Job Description: Janitor

Reports to: Manager
Duties: The Janitor shall carry out overall cleaning of the building as per the Job Description and other tasks that may be required. Work shall be performed in accordance with fire safety and occupational health and safety regulations as well as any other pertinent legislation and policies. Generally, the work shall be performed according to the following schedule. However, it is the responsibility of the Janitor to also clean up other areas when needed. MONDAY – 5 hrs • Vacuum / sweep entrance, vestibule, halls, community room, public bathrooms, and garbage room. • Community Room and Vestibule – dust all furniture, vacuum upholstered furniture and wipe down tables and chairs with disinfectant • Community Room Kitchen – clean kitchen sink and taps, wipe down cupboard doors and countertops using Magic Eraser on stains, replace dish cloths and tea towels, wipe down stove • Clean public bathrooms with appropriate cleaners on toilets, sinks, mirrors, and all other surfaces. • Clean glass in entrance and silver corner bumpers in hallway. WEDNESDAY – 2 hrs • Vacuum / sweep entrance, vestibule, halls, community room, and public bathrooms FRIDAY – 3 hrs • Vacuum / sweep office and dust electronic equipment, desk area and filing cabinets • Remove mats in entrance and vestibule to vacuum and wash the floors underneath SEMI ANNUAL • Wash windows in common areas • Vacuum / sweep storage rooms, janitor’s rooms, electrical room, and mechanical rooms semi-annually or as needed. • Remove mats in entrances to vacuum and wash the floors underneath Other duties may be assigned by the Manager.TEMISKAMING SHORES SENIORS’
